Default IgorSFH-56 - Can the Command Order be changed automatically?

    Hi,
I'm currently testing out Girder ( version 2.2.8 ) to see if it can do all the things that I need. So far it seems excellent, but I have become stuck on how (if it is at all possible) to set up one thing..

I need to use 2 remotes ( one is a keyboard and the other a tv type remote ), with the Igor SFH-56 plug-in ( version 1.12 ). The keyboard works fine with the 'Command Order' set as '2', but the tv Remote works only with the 'Command Order' set to '0'.

Is there any way to be able to automate the changing of this Command Order variable from 0 to 2 and back again from a Girder command? ( so that I could effectively have a switch on each remote item to turn it off and the other on )

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

are you sure you are using girder 2.2.8?

girder had passed to version 3 long ago.

then, I don'T understand your problem... your keyboard should not be using the same plugin as your remote, so there should be no interference.

could you re-explain the problem please?

OOPS, Yes sorry, the version of Girder is 3.2.8.

What I am trying to do is basically exactly as I have explained above. I have two remotes (one is a small keyboard, and one is a tv type remote control). They both work with the Igor SFH-56 plug-in, but the tv remote will only work with the command order set to 0, and the remote keyboard will only work with the command order set to 2.

I can manually go into the Igor setup and change the command order, and they will switch over and work fine, however I was wandering if there is any way to automate the changing of the command order with a girder command (so that effectively I can use a button on the remote to switch over to the keyboard and vice versa).

The signals are picked up by the same IR device receiver plugged into the serial port using the Igor plug-in, which is fine as that is the only IR device receiver I have connected and that is what I want them to do, but the Keyboard needs to be set to work with the second IR event received, and the tv remote with the first.

I have all the hardware working fine, and as I said I can change over from one to the other manually by changing the Command order in the Igor plug in set up. I just thought that there might be a way to change this value with a command through girder?

so you need to change the config of the igor plugin in order to have the other of (IR keyboard, remote) working...

I don't know if we can change the setup of a plugin on the fly (maybe mikeC or ronB could answer this?) but I'd like to know how you manage to get a keyboard working with IGOR, I lamely failed at that last year.

No, I don't see a way you can do this.
