Default Forced vs. Polite. What's the difference?

    Hi all,

I checked the FAQ and searched the archives and didn't find an answer to this question. Under Power Management, what's the difference between Ram-Alive Polite and Ram-Alive Forced?

I found the answer in the Grider help section. The specific page is : http://www.girder.nl/help/girderhelp/actn_os.php .

What I was interested in is the 'you have another user connected' dialog box that pops-up when remotely putting a computer to sleep. In my situation, when using 'polite', the dialog box pops-up and unless you're there to click 'yes', the computer won't sleep which kinda defeats the purpose of the event. Turns out, when I chose 'force', the dialog box does not pop-up and the computer enters sleep.
