Default Anyone Got a Weather Station?

    Hi,

Since I seem to have this un-healthy obsession for the weather at the moment I was wondering if anyone has got a weather station.

If you have is it hooked upto your PC, is it interfaced with Girder?
    What model is it?
What are your experiences with it?
    What is it's performance like?
    Why do you have one?

I have always been tempted to get one, such as the first two on this page.

    Look forward to your comments...

    Cheers

    Dan

I just noticed your post after I suggested the exact same model to Miked after reading his post. Looks like a neat toy, but it's a little $$$.

I really had to try hard not to buy one of them, It looks so cool, and if you use Weather Display, it will update a realtime xml file with the data perfect for girder!

I have a 1-wire network with temp and humidity sensors using http://www.digitemp.com. I display them with rrdtool to my website.

I'm sure you've seen, but just in case, there are others as well

Although a little on the pricey side, I have a couple of Sensatronics Model F temp sensors:

    http://www.sensatronics.com/products...remonitor.html

They integrate nicely with Girder -- when you want to read the temp, you just ping the device by sending any character to it, and then you get three lines back in return, the first being the first temp sensor, the second being the second temp sensor (if present), and the third being an OK sign. I have one that reads the indoor and outdoor temps (see www.dryjawac.com for the current outdoor temp!), and the second one reads the indoor temp in the HTPC closet where all the equipment is stored -- turning on a fan if the temp is greater than 76 F.
