Not in there. This would be handled in a special way, as I don't think JRMC has a concept of the current playlist, it just dumps the files from the playlist into the current playing area.

Correct me if I'm wrong - does it show the "current playlist" anywhere in JRMC?

I'll look into this, though. It would mean hooking up something special whenever you "play" something under Playlists.

No I don't think it is listed anywhere in JRMC. I have changed how I am doing this a little anyway. I am using the ability you pointed out in another post regarding directly controling the playlists with a button and the LX "PLAY" "Playlists\Hard Music" "-1" command string. This works great. Just working with the sample ccf to figure how to have the button stay down or change color as you do for the mute toggle - still learning this abit. For now though this will meet my need on knowing what playlist is playing.

Thanks for the help, let me know if there becomes any other way that may be more effcient.

The closest thing I can think of is a function called "recent playing now" which shows the former playing now playlists. But that probably does not help here.

    Kevin,

I am having problem with the randomness using that command. Does it work for you?

Well not really, unless I am not doing it right. My experience is that it seems to always start the playlist with the same song at the top of the list. I kinda get around this by always doing a reshuffle, this will at least have the rest of the list random to a point. But it does not seem to start the list with a different song every time.

My need for this command was more for direct control of the playlists from Netremote for calling playlists from other rooms and other zones - for this it works great...the way I was doing before was within Girder and it was not the most friendly setup. Sorry that this probably doesn't give you the answer you were looking for.

Right. So this issue (http://www.netremote.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=576) is more general and not just related to my setup.

Ya I just did a little more testing, I had never looked into it to far because I was so happy that I could get the list from the Ipaq and avoid Girder  . Anyway...I did a little testing and I too have random as one of the parameters for my smartlist and when I select it to play from within MC it does just that the list is different everytime. The odd thing that I discoverd is that when I went to double check it on the Ipaq after when I choose the playlist it went back to the same song that it always played first....this was after about 15 to 20 tests from within MC therefore I had generated many different lists of music yet when the button was pressed within Netremote it went back to the original song that it always picked....very odd
