Default Check out my new CCF

I finished my second CCF and would love some feedback, positive or negative. I'd also like any suggestions to make it better as well. Just so you know I am running Netremote on a Fujitsu Stylistic LT tablet running 800X600 resolution.

I'll just show you a couple of the screens here and will link the rest. It's a big one, 23 screens in all and 2.22MB.

This one has some good stuff in it. Position slider for Media Center, full mouse and keyboard support and embeddd browser. Media Center, Sage, Theatertek, MYHD, Laserdisc, cable box, SACD/DVD-A, Receiver, G70 (projector), LD demodulator, Switcher and my PC are all controlled by netremote.

The menu bar that is on the right of most of the pages works like this. The home at the top will either bring you to my home page where you select what you want to control, or it will bring you back to the current thing you are controlling if you are on a subpage. The mode and direct buttons are for my receiver sound modes. And the volume controls all control my receiver.

If you happened to have seen my first CCF you may have noticed a trend. They are both dark, I do this for a reason. I like to have my "theater" as dark as possible when watching a movie so I don't want my tablet lighting up the room, hence the dark colors.

Here is the Media Center main page.

And here is the PC control page. The internet explorer icon on this page launches the embedded browser. The two icons above it open up My computer and My Documents.

Here is the main page that shows up when you first start up Netremote that allows you to choose your device
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/home.jpg

I have broken media center up into five sections. Here is the browse section where you can browse your collection and playlists
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremo...ter_browse.jpg

Then I have 3 pages for browsing by album cover.

One with 15 covers per page http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremo..._covers_15.jpg

    35 covers per page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremo..._covers_35.jpg

    And 70 per page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremo..._covers_70.jpg

I broke Theatertek into three sections. The main page with the most common commands (play, pause, etc.). Then there is a aspect ratio page and a menu page.

    Here is the main page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/tt_main.jpg

    The menu page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/tt_menu.jpg

    And the aspect ratio page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/tt_ar.jpg

Next up is the Sage pages. I have also broken this up into three sections. The main page which has the most common stuff (number pad, play, pause, etc.), a menu page to navigate around sages menus and a search page that has a keyboard in it to enter searches.

    Here is the main page:
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/sage_main.jpg

    The menu page:
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/sage_home.jpg

The smilie faces are like and don't like incase you were wondering.

And here is the search page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremo...age_search.jpg

I broke up MYHD into two pages, a main page and a playback page.

    Here is main page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/myhd_main.jpg

    Here's the playback page:
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/myhd_play.jpg

Here are the laserdisc and the demodulator pages

    LD

    Demod

    Cable box, pretty boring

    SACD/DVD-A player, really boring
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/sacddvda.jpg

    My Outlaw receiver
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/outlaw.jpg

My projector is broken up into two pages. A basic controls page, and a setup page.

    Here is the basic page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/g70_main.jpg

    And the setup page
    http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/g70_setup.jpg

I'd really like to thank all of you who I borrowed code from and especially thank Ben for this awesome program. I really, really love Netremote!

If you would like to download this CCF to check out, you can do so here http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/MOE2.zip If anyone wants it, I can also upload the corresponding girder GML.

Well if you happened to have made it this far down please let me know what you think. I have thick skin so please be honest. I am also open to any suggestions to make it better.

    Thanks!
    Moe

Fantastic!   You're quite the artist, even with a name that speaks adventure (Asbjørnsen & Moe were the norwegian brothers Grimm)! I agree with the dark approach for HT purposes as well. I gotta say that I'm impressed, and I also like that somebody else than me still uses a laser disc player! What model is it? Also that is a Sony G70 CRT projector you use, right? Another sign of good taste - I use a Barco Graphics 808. And yes, I'd like to take a look at the GML as well. But don't you use ZoomPlayer?

I just wish I hadn't spent all that time on my 800x600 CCF since I'll be downloading yours and just redo it for my components (mainly changing IR codes). But when is the PPC version coming?

    Thanks Tor.

I didn't know that about my name and Moe is my real name, last name that is. I did know that it was Norwegian though.

My LD player is a Pioneer CLD-704, nice little player too. Yep, its a Sony G70 CRT projector, the crown jewel of my home theater.

I don't use Zoom, never have. I am a Theatertek user. I will get the GML online next time I fire up the projector, probably some time tonight.

Sorry, no PPC version coming. I don't use one so don't really have the need or drive to make one for it. I can post up all of my buttons if enough people show an interest.

    Thanks again!

sapnho, if you spent less time in the bierstuben and more time using your eyes you'd see the download link at the end of Moe's post...

Moe, do you use a wired network controller? On my wireless network the cover browsing is a bit too slow with X-large covers, which I would need since other sizes does not look good. Also, if I may come with a suggestion, how about putting in something that shows that you're pressing a cover? I was sort of expecting some kind of color change or something else to give feedback.

The icons for the one's without covers did not show up the first time I ran it, but they seems to be there now (but that's one for you, Ben). And strangely enough it's the old NetRemote logo when browsing, but I see the MC logo when something is playing.

First off, here is the GML http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/MOE_GML.zip

Thanks for ripping on Sapnho, you spared me the trouble

I use both a wired and a wireless, my desktop pc that I use for normal computer duty is the wired one and my tablet is wireless. The performance on either machine for the covers is not zippy, but I am willing to live with it. If someone knows a way to make it faster I will look into it.

I like your idea on showing some feedback when you select an album, problem is I have no idea how to do it. I just tried to do it, I made an icon that is suppossed to show up when you select an album cover (just the word "play"), I set it up in Tonto as the selected image on the album frame but nothing shows up. I did make it do something though, now when you select an album it jumps you back to the MC home page. Good suggestion, thanks! I updated the download link with this change.

I don't have that problem about albums without album covers, all my albums have covers :P

One thing I would like is the ability to sort the albums by artist. Right now it is just alphabetical, I would like it to be alphabetical by artist, is this possible?

As The Mask said to the bad guy when he was about to be flushed down the drain: "You're incorrigable!"

Yo, Moe! (Be glad I didn't use one of the first dirty joke norwegian school children learn from each other, it's about the norwegian Moe and I'll tell it if you want to). When I said you were quite an artist earlier in the thread I didn't know that you was one in real life! What do you actually work with (pure curiousness on my part)?

Would it be possible to get your buttons without text and perhaps the font you're using? I would like norwegian text on my stuff. I'm deep in a remodel (partly because of new possibilities in the coming version), but your setup will be the basis for it.

btw our second car is a Mazda MX-3! You really should build an MC based carputer like mine. Look at this thread:

    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=20870

That's where you should put the backup harddisks of your music (you do have backups, right? Or are you a braver man than me?)
