    Default Tablet questions

I am very interested in a tablet(like) device to control my HT through NR.

I have researched this for a while but there is nothing like first hand experience.
Does anyone have any first hand experience even if it is just "ya I use this and it works great"

    My options:
    Stylistic 3400
    Progear
Simpad (I know lots use this but finding one right now at a reasonable price is tuff)

Important to me is a dock so I can place it on the table where it will be used most days.

    Thanks for any insight's

    Don

Edit: I guess I should clarify a little I know all these devices will "work" with NR what I am more looking for is how well do they work. Is the Stylistic 3400 touchscreen easy to use with your finger etc.

I'm interested in this too. I'm currently looking at PDAs but as I'll mostly (if not always) be using it at home to control the HTPC and AV equipment maybe I should be looking at tablet too? I have to admit I'm a bit lost at the mo. I don't even know what a 'tablet' pc is! I assume it's just a big PDA. Maybe someone can extoll the benefits of PDA, Tablet and Simpad - that would be a big help.

While I don't have any experience with any of those tablets that you mentioned. I would add the Fujitsu Stylistic LT to the list.

It will probably be cheaper than at least the progear and the 3400, it is plenty fast enough for netremote (233mhz), you can easily get a dock for it, it has a nice TFT screen, it's small, and it's very easy to use.

They are on eBay all the time.

I have one and have been very happy with it.

JLee I have done a bit of research on these I was just looking for some first hand experience.

Let me fill you in on what I know:
Important when looking for a "tablet" is to find one that does not require a active pen. Those require a pen to work and will be a bit odd (but workable) for a remote.

    2 basic types
    Smart displays
    No HD, runs RDP

    Tablet PC's
HD, OS etc runs whatever OS is on it and whatever apps that OS uses. Basically a touch based laptop.

MS say's Tablet PC must have an active pen. IE cannot be used by touch or if it is touch it must also have active pen like the Paceblades.

    Smart Display's
    Viewsonic Airpanels
    SimPads

    "Touch" based PC's
    Progear
    Stylistic LT, 3400
    Viewsonic v1000 (NOT V1100)

    Thanks Cooch.

I think I'll stick with the PDA. Sounds more cool and I guess the portability will come in handy once I have it

    Thanks Moe!

I saw the LT's nice to know they run good with NR. I really don't like the number pad on the side but for the price I could overlook that

    Hey Moe!

    Question on the Stylistic LT.

Does ithave a fan? Wondering if it runs quietly as it will be always on and thinking about one in the bedroom.

    Thanks,
