Default New user maintainable gallery added

    Hi everyone -
I've tweaked the gallery section to be generated by php so that I or anyone else can easily add gallery items.

Currently the gallery will show all interfaces, not broken up by size (PPC vs. 800x600) or by pages. I'll add that when there are a few more interfaces available.

Note that I've also added links to both the Wiki and the Gallery from the forum so that more people see them.

I tried to put the info for each image on each attachment, but it wouldn't store the full length in the database.

To add your own interface to the gallery, follow the simple guide below:

1 ) Go to the gallery section, and click "Add your interface".
2 ) Login using your forum username and password. Note that you must have 10 posts and have been registered for m
    ore than 10 days.
3 ) If you have already uploaded your ccf (to the user uploads section), pick it from the drop down list.
4 ) Otherwise, select the ccf to upload.
5 ) Select the ccf size from the picklist. Select "other" if the size is not shown.
6 ) Enter the designer name. This is most likely yourself, but I've left it open so that you can upload someone else's design that you like.
    * ) Enter the devices that the ccf controls
    * ) Enter a description for the gallery item.
    * ) Click Save. Once you have saved, you will be able to add thumbnail images.
7 ) Images already uploaded can be changed, and will be shown in 1/4 size.
8 ) Display order is the order that the images will appear in the gallery detail page.
9 ) The "main" image is the image that will show on the gallery overview page. Only one image can be the "main" image.
    10) You can add one new thumbnail image at a time. Simply select the file to upload.
    * ) Click Save
    * ) Note that descriptions for thumbnail images will be saved, but is not currently being displayed.

I posted my CCF but having trouble with Images. I posted 2 .png files. Upload screen says they are there but not shown in gallery. I removed the 2nd one but still not shown in gallery. Do they need to be a particular format?

Whoops - forgot to add a point - Make sure you select one image as the "Main" image. It doesn't default the first one.

I'll add the default now, but you should set your first image to be the "Main" image.

Everytime I try to add my CCF to the gallery it crashes, I hit the save button at the bottom and get an "page cannot be displayed" error. I don't think I am doing anything wrong.

Could it be a problem that the file is too big? It just allowed me to add one, so I'm guessing thats the problem.

Can you try uploading it to the user uploads section first? If not, if it has not changed since you sent it to me, I will add it to the gallery using the new system and try to iron out any problems.

    Thanks Moe!

I can't upload it to the users upload section either, file is probably to big. The CCF is 2.22MB unzipped.

Ben if you want to try here is the corresponding text

    For what it controls:
Media Center, TheaterTek, Sage TV, MyHD, Outlaw 1050, Sony G70 projector, Pioneer Elite DV-45A, Pioneer CLD-704, Marantz DP-870 RF Demodulator, Motorola DCT5100 Cable Box, NEC ISS-6010 Switcher, web browser, on screen keyboard and mouse

    Description:
This is my monster CCF that controls my entire home theater. If you would like to download the corresponding Girder GML it can be found here http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/MOE_GML.zip if you would like to use any of my buttons for your own CCF they can be found here http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/Masters/ These images are in Photoshop PSD format

I think you have latest version but to make sure it can be found here http://www.moesrealm.com/img/netremote/2/MOE2.zip

    Thanks
    Moe

Hi Moe - There were two settings limiting the sizes of uploaded files (500k and 2 meg) I've set them both to 3 meg, and you should be good to go.

I uploaded your file as a test, but then removed it so that you can "control it" (IE: make changes, upload new versions, etc.)
