eeehhm typical of Me or typical of Bill Gates... ?And typical...
p.s. this 'cutting off' doesn't happen on the ppc because the line spacing is fixed...
the ppc rich text control has *exactly* the same possibilities/limitations as pocket word.
I found that you can change line spacing on ppc by changing the zoom level
below pictures are the same rtf file at 75% and 100% It doesn't look too bad...
so : limitations of PPC version :
- * no transparency
* must use 'built in' scroll bar (so no NR scroller)
* fixed line spacing (but different zoom levels)
it is good enough to display lyrics etc...
advantages over html control :
- * no need for httpd plugin or creating temporary html files on disk
* if you change the NR variable containing the lyrics, the rich text list box is immediately updated. No need for a 'refresh' button anymore (which doesn't work on ppc anyway). For me this is the biggest advantage

I don't understand the stuff in this thread as it's far to techy for me but the above caught my attention. Does this mean that I can get lyrics from the lyrics tab in MC and display them in a scrolling box in NR - without upgrading to Girder 3.3 (I use 3.2.9) and without doing all that httpd stuff (that I don't understand). If so could you give me a quick step by step guide as to how I would do that.it is good enough to display lyrics etc...

I'm still working on it and you need a recent prerelease of NR 1.0
I'm just abusing this forum as if it was my private blog (yes I am that much of a megalomaniac)
The complexity is not much less than when you would be using the httpd plugin in girder....
you still need the *latest* girder+luacom to get the lyrics from JRMC in the first place (the built in NR.Lyrics doesn't work properly) and then you need to send it to NR in an RTF formatted NR lua variable (instead of an HTML formatted girder lua variable for the httpd plugin)
so go on, just spend another US$20,- with the promixis boys![]()

In fact there are now two "competitive"Does this mean that I can get lyrics from the lyrics tab in MC and display them in a scrolling box in NRways to do this now. Check out the AvidUtils driver here http://www.promixis.com/phpBB2/viewt...t=8479&start=0 and try the "Display" and "Scrolling" options in its CCF. It does not use rich text, but might be a bit easier to use, avoiding the need to use RTF. The trade-off is that all the text in the box will be the same size. But even with that you will still need the latest girder+luacom to set the lyrics variable as Marcel says.

yeah baby... coloured background works...
Of course, I could have photoshopped this picture, who can you trust these days![]()
I stole all of Brian's ideas anyway...Check out the AvidUtils driver here

Thanks Guys - that makes sense. So that means that I need to fork out the $20 and then come back for some instructions on how to get lyrics from the MC lyrics tag into an NR variable.

Or let me see about fixing lyrics from JRMC. I know what the problem is. It will require having J. River package up a new RemoteServer, but if you can live with that, I'll fix the lyrics.
Sorry to make everyone have to work around my inadequacies.
Edit: Of course, you should still buy Girder for everything else you can do with it.![]()
ok...I'll fix the lyrics.
Note that I also display Album Review and Artist Biography and these are not supported by NR. So for those, you still need to do the Girder+luacom thing....
