New user nedds advice for setting up my PPC as a HTPC remote

I have a Theatertek 2.05 running on my 3.06Ghz HTPC and need help in setting my Audiovox PPC4100 as a remote.

I plan on downloading Netremote but need to know what else to get in order to make the whole set up run.

I'd like to go WIFI as opposed to IR.

To control TT you will also need Girder, I am assuming your PPC has WiFi.

Once you have Girder installed and NetRemote. you need to get a TT Girder group setup. You may findone in the download section of this site, or via the TT forum. It would be easier for you to modify someone elses.

Once you have Girder group you will need a ccf, you could modify someone else's ccf for TT if you wish or make your own. I don't know if anyone has a ccf for TT already worht checking thou.

Then when you have got the basic control set up. There are alot of other nifty TT things you could add to your ccf.

Thanks for the quick response! As of right now I do not have my PPC set up with Wifi. The Audiovox PPC4100 is a GPRS cellphone/PPC combo unit. AT&T Wireless/Cingular is the carrier.

I am assuming that I need to purchase a Wifi SD/IO card for my PPC and a Wifi peripheral for my HTPC to enable the PPC to communicate the HTPC, any reccomnedations as to which Wifi card? Is there a consensus favoritte on this forum?

You'd be right there you need to buy a wifi card for the ppc and the htpc. I do not know of a good sd type. I personally tend to stick to netgear.

I don't know of a favorite on the forum.
