    Default Plugin Crashes

I realize that there is problems with the older lua stuff, but I have noticed 3 plugins that kill girder dead when enabling.

Snapstream Firefly ( I don't have one, but it shouldn't crash because of this I'd think)

Generic X10 Plugin (Again, not installed on this machine, but same as above.)

Lua Socket Library ( I assume because of the upgrade to version5?)

What is the upgrade process for the LUA?

Anyhow, all three of these plugins leave me with then a List not empty box stating "Not all file operation handles the GUID correctly", That is followed by the image when attempting to capture the original list not empty dialog. I had a few others too, but finaly the last said runtime error 216 at 01fd28c2.

Yes both the Firefly plugin and the X10 plugin should definately not crash Girder.

About the lua socket library, it is impossible to use G3.3 Lua related plugins in G4. We upgraded to Lua5 which is (sadly) binary incompatible. Were you using LuaSockets compiled for Girder 3? Girder 4 is now compiled in such a way that you *should* be able to simply download a binary from the Lua Socket homepage and use it in Girder....

I kind of gathered the incompatability from my browsing.

I'll look at updating the new binary.

Jeff could you do me a favour. I modified the firefly dll to hopefully not crash, but I don't have a machine here to verify this on since they all have the X10 stuff installed. ( I tried uninstalling but the X10 ActiveX objects stays behind )

Could you remove the genx10.dll and firefly.dll from your g4 dir and place the firefly.dll below in it's place and check if Girder crashes yes or no?

    Thanks!

Don't worry about it, I just realized that my sons computer doesn't have the X10 stuff installed. So I tried there and it no longer crashes. Thanks for the report.

Is this the official "Plugins that don't work in Girder 4" thread?
If it is I'd like to mention that the CM11/CM12 X10 plugin will not load. I'm guessing that this is because it sends messages to Girder?

Maybe we could have a sticky with "Plugins that will not function in Girder 4", so that we can compare notes and refer to the list if we are having trouble.
