Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do write a Girder Plug in?

I need a plugin to allow events to be triggered from text sent to a particular ip port.
At the moment I am using the RS232 plugin and an extenal ip to RS232 device. I then use c++ to generate the IP packet on the remote device, this is sent on a VPN to the convertor which changes this to RS232, which girder recieves. I need to remove the IP to RS232 part and communicate directly with Girder.

Simon, you can do this with the internet event sever plugin. We also have a version that doesn't require login info..

By default IES listens on port 1024, but you can change that in the settings.
