I think I may have a problem with learning IR codes on my MCE V2005 remote. Using PlugIn 0.18 (and any other version I have tried) when using the 'Learn' feature to add a new blaster code to a command I have the following problems:

1. The 'Learn' only seems to work once. I have to restart Girder to learn more than one command (IRK file) at once. The plugin does not display the "press a button your remote" dialog after the first time.

2. When it does learn a new IRK file it seems to have recorded it OK and if tested flashes the MCE blasters but does not operate the equipmwnt it is attached to. (I am familiar with placing the blasters on the equipment correctly as I have successfully used IR repeaters on my system). This problem exists with ALL my equipment (Harmon Cardon AV4000 Amplifier and LG 32" LCD TV).

Any ideas what I can try next??

The plugin works fine learning events from MCE remote using both MCE handset and the handsets from the Harmon Cardon and the LG TV.

I also tried the command line apps included in the download but continually get the 'failed to record' message. I seem to remember reading somewhere that some remotes operate at a different frequency than most (Bang & Olufsen I think?) could this be my problem and if so is there a solution?

P.S. I built a system for a customer about six months ago using the USB UIRT remote sender/receiver which worked perfectly with the same remote controls, and I have never had a problem teching 'universal remotes' codes from these remotes either.

Maybe you have the same problem as this one (http://www.thegreenbutton.com/community/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=27&MessageID=112191)...

If not, instead of learning your IR codes, you can try to use Pronto IR files :
- You can download your CCF files from RemoteCentral (http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/rcfiles.cgi?area=pronto&db=devices&br=&fc=) File Archive
- then use CCF Extractor (http://www.byremote.com.au/downloads/default.asp?SCLASS=UTILITIES) to extract IR codes from these files.
- Back to the MCE plugin settings, select a .IR file using the file browser (instead of using the Learn button)
- Press the Test button...
I hope it will work this way...
