Hi

I would like to know if i can train a old remote i have at home with girder for use on my pc (4 controlling ShowShifter, power dvd etc) via a usb irda port i normally just use with my cellphone.

the IR port details: U-280 USB 2.0 IrDA (4Mpbs) made by ST-Labs ( http://www.st-lab.com/ )
the remote i'd like to use is a tv/video universal remote so i can set it up to simulate almost any tv or vcr remote on the market.

thanks in advance

HI,

IRDA is usually incompatible with consumer IR remotes, so I would recomend using your universal remote with an Igorplug device (around 5,00 for com port version) more info here: http://www.cesko.host.sk/girderplugin.htm
