I m new with Girder!

I m using:

Girder 3.3
USB-UIRT ir receiver
HTPC
Logitech Harmony remote control 525

I've played with Girder 3.3 for a while now and finallyh configured my TheaterTek software ok now. Also am able now to shut down my pc with a button on my Harmony Remote. However, I m wondering if it is also possible to get my HTPC ON with my remote. I think maybe it will be something with my bios but don t IF it is possible to turn my pc ON while he is OFF (not stand-by)

any thoughts?

I apologize that I am using Girder 4.0, so the actions may not line up (but the end result should). I took a brief look and it feels a bit more roundabout in 3.3 than in 4.0.

1. Add a new action using the USB-UIRT plugin.
2. Click on the "Settings" button when "USB-UIRT driver" is selected.
3. Click the "Configuration..." button in the upper-right.
4. (Going by 4.0) Choose the "Remote Wake-Up" tab.
5. Add an IR Code to one of the 4 slots by choosing "Learn".
6. Check the box to "Enable USB-UIRT Hardware Wake-Up Support".
7. Click "Program Flash", then Close.

You can cancel adding a new definition. Also make sure that "Wake on USB" is enabled in your BIOS... it usually is, but some nVidia chipsets default it to disabled.

Hope that helps,
-Matt

If you have another pc on the network you could also use Wake On Lan

That really wouldn't help him use the remote... unless that other PC were nearby and accepted the IR command, and... well, just enabling it in Girder is a bit easier.
