Hi,

I'm looking for an RF remote with a decent range, it should be able to cope with a range of 10-15 meters through walls & floors.

I would really like some recomendations from users as advertising of operating range often turns out to be false or misleading

also does anyone have experience with this remote:

(sorry couldn't find manifacturer or model number)
love the layout, doesn't have extra featrures and doubt the range.

or this one:

don't like the layout of this one, but like the 6 in 1 capability (1xRF + 5xIR) forum posts I've found from users seem to confirm the operating to be at ~15 meters when going through walls etc.
This would be a winner, if it had a better layout ;)

love to see some recomendations and user experiences on any RF remote ;)

I use the original ATI Remote Wonder, and it works through walls and on that discance without any problems in my house (wooden walls).

You might want to take a look at UnversalRemote's line, I have used these quite a bit with very good success. If you purchse one of the models that is pc-programable your setup possibilities are pretty much limitless.
Fwiw, the 'WAF' is almost a 10 with the MX-750 and MX-850 models and this is the only remote I've found that (once it's set up) is as easy to use as a Tivo remote. I have an MX-850 at home and swear by it. I know they are a bit pricey compared to others but IMO worth every penny.

I've found the best prices on either ebay, www.bluedo.com (http://www.bluedo.com) or here: http://www.hometheaterstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MX850

Complete product guide is here:

Good luck!

You gotta be kidding! For that price I'd get a pair of used Ipaq 5450 with good CIR instead! ;) When I use remotes, I want them simple and cheap.

Yeah, I know they are a bit pricey- But I've found MX750's on ebay for about $120-$150 pretty regularly.

These really are awesome remotes, they are much more powerful than they look and you can set up insane macros including page jumps.
Plus the IR / RF is very strong and the units are super durable. You can get the extended RF repeaters and cover a very large house in a snap.
Anyhow, this has been my experience with them- I haven't seen anything else that I like (for my needs) that is really low priced and does very good / reliable RF. The ATI Wonder is a good remote as well, so shop - compare - and have fun!
