i would like to use girder and my usb-uirt to control my Windw Media Center Edition system.

currently i use the version of irtrans that came with my x11 HTPC case but it doesnt work as well as I'd like. so i set up a file in girder with a bunch of commands that send keypresses corresponding with the keyboard shortcuts for MCE. for the Ir on these commands i just used my mce remote to teach the eventstrings via my usb-uirt.

and whats weird is it seems like i have to press everything twice before it works in MCE. for instance i have to pres up twice for the "cursor" in MCE to move up once.

what the heck is going on here? any advice would be greatly appreciated

anyone??

i have read about others successfully doing this (from a google search) but i havent been able to figure out how.

as i understand it - the mce remote sends alternating codes with each keypress. how would i capture something like that in girder?

i just want it to that using my mce remote and my usb-uirt, i can press a button once and have the action be performed in MCE.

ideas please?
