Hi,
I'm an old user on Girder 3.3 and recently started to use Girder 4.0. But I can't use the the Generic Serial 3.0.20 plugin for Girder 3.3 on version 4.0. Is there an update or can it be modified for the new version. HELP!!!

3243 plugin for Girder 3.3
3244 ini file

I've attached the .ini file that I used for the old plugin.

do you have a link to the protocol for the device you want to control?

It's a homebuild device there is sending HEX codes to serial com port. In the old plugin you can define witch com device, Parity, Word size, stop bits, handshaking, baud rate and how many characters is send to com device. Is that possible in the new version???

you just need to add a lua file in the serial directory describing those basic settings.

Thanks that helped me further.
I'm working on the LUA file right now, but haven't been able to make it work. :(
Trying to implement theese settings:

--------- Name: "BEO4" ---------
Port properties:
Parity = None
Word size = 8
Stop bits = 1
Handshaking = None
Baud rate = 9600
Device = Com1

Message Definitions:
RECEIVE:
Character Event = Enable
Fixed length = 13 characters
Translate (bin --> Hex) = ON
Message buffer size = 201
--------------------------------

Theese settings are included as a .ini file in the first message i wrote.

But, thanks for all your help.

YES finally it works!
The Lua file is setup to listen what happens on the chosen com device. And then executes given commands.
