Hi all,

there have been a few threads already about a mediabridge plugin for Mediaportal.

I'm the developer of the MPBlue pocket PC interface for Mediaportal but development has stalled because of my limited knowledge of programming graphics on PocketPC.

I would like to have a go at writing a mediabridge plugin.
the interfaces to mediaportal are all there.

does anyone have tips on how to start here?
I downloaded the mediabridge plugin SDK, good for me that is is a C# implementation.

are all available methods in there and do I only need to add code to these?

many thanks in advance.

Hey Mr. Sensitive -
There are "paths" of creating a MediaBridge plugin.

1. Full Control - (Like JRMC)
You maintain all requests for the library, you execute all searches, etc. You have to implement all methods. You also provide for support for multiple zones.

2. CachingPlugin - (Like WinAmp, WMP, iTunes, MCE)
You write methods that get a list of tracks by album, artist, genre. The plugin caches all of this in an access database which it uses to show the user the hierarchy. All you need to do is write methods to control volume, position, and play tracks.

MrSensitive, I'd love it if you were able to develop a mediabridge to MediaPortal as I think the combination of NetRemote PPC & MediaPortal would be awesome.

Please do keep people updated on your progress.
