When you add a PNG file that is larger than the current CCF size in either dimension you get prompted whether you want to treat it as an animation. If you say yes a dialog comes up that lets you specify the number of rows and columns etc.

There's also a 'Test animation' button that shows you what the animation will look like. All well and good so far. However, if you don't stop the animation before closing the file does not save properly, and will remain in a permanently unsaved state (the asterisk next to the CCF name in the title bar disappears but returns fairly quickly). If you stop the animation before clicking okay then the save works.

Further to this, the image picker shows the frame rate of the animation. Unfortunately this is an integer value - I have a small animation that has 126 frames, which shows as having a frame rate of 0 fps.

I've attached it to this message - it has 3 rows and 42 columns and shows a twinkling star for use as an eye candy highlight on bright areas of a button.

Some way of going back to the animation dialog would help here, as indeed would stopping the animation when the dialog is closed.

Fixed in an upcoming build.
