I recently sent an email to Smarthome (below) re the conflict that happens when using DirectX with the USB Powerlinc. Below is the response that I received. Does anyone know if Microsoft really has an issue with a Microsoft HID device driver. It sounds like a bunch of you know what to me.

David,

Thank you for your email. It is not an INSTEON Powerlinc issue, but a Microsoft HID device driver issue. This happens with other DirectX devices. Currently there is not a fix for this as it has to do with Microsoft's driver conflict. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you for you patience.

Just wondering if you were any closer to resolving the Direct X problem?
Programs such as PowerDVD Ultra now rely on DirectX. I have my lighting
control running off of my Media Center PC. It is a hassle to unplug the USB
from the Powerlink every time I want to watch a movie.

Is this a driver issue or a hardware issue? Is anyone working to address
it?

Thanks in advance,

David Setton
