For those that want a great sounded text to speech voice to use with Girder 5 I would suggest you try the HomeSeer SAPI5 Voices (Kate & Paul) which is on sale for $35 this month. I use Paul for my Now Playing project and home automation.

You can also get these from www.nextup.com (see the NeoSpeech voices) for the same price (or $60 for the pair)

If you already have (or buy) TextAloud then you can also use the Nuance RealSpeak (aka Scansoft) voices in Girder. These are slightly more expensive at $45 each (plus the cost of TextAloud $29.95), but there are more of them in various different international forms.

Note that the Acapela voices won't work in Girder unless you buy the Infovox Pro package (US only from NextUp). I'm not sure about the Cepstral voices, but I didn't much like the quality last time I heard them.

Just realised that the Homeseer offer is for both voices which is a really good deal.

Now that Homeseer has stopped selling Paul and Kate and switched over to some terrible sounding voices I was wondering if anyone knew of another source to buy Paul and Kate. I think Paul is the best sounding male voice (second would be AT&T's Michael) IMHO. So if anyone knows how to get Paul working in Girder through some other source please describe what you need to buy and where. I have people ask me all the time so I would like to have a source to tell them about.

Thanks

According to NextUp.com

"They (NeoSpeech) have pulled them off the market for the moment and said no company is allowed to sell them, but they say they may come back in the future."

May be worth contacting NeoSpeech directly though.
