You'll need some sort of IR receiver - we usually recommend the USB-UIRT for this.

i have the reciever of mce v2 remote control. but it seems that it wont recognize the samsung remote.

i tested with a phillips remote and it worked.

but i want the samsung cause its cabable to control 5 devices.

so is there a way to make this work with the mce ir reciever and a plugin or something?

i got my idea to do this after reading this thread and using this driver.
but in this case ill be able to control my tv from the mce remote and to do that ill have to keep my computer powered on all the time...
instead if i use my tv's remote i will be able to control the tv at any time without having the computer turned on.

thats why i wanted to do the opposite thing from what the thread in green button sais.

i guess that it isnt possible unless i have a universall remote or if i make a plugin for the specific remote. but i dont know programming so im not able to do it....
