November 8th, 2008, 01:42 PM
Hi All,

I am trying to embed some simple online radio stations

buttons on radio page opens a new page for each station showing the online console

I have succeeded once... but then embedded google into the web browser
and the radio1 console changed to google

now I have a grey embedded screen???

I have tried searching 'radio' in the forum but nothing comes up...

I have tried searching 'radio' in the help section and nothing comes up either

a sample ccf would be lovely... in fact bloody marvellous

what I want to achieve is 9 buttons that go to different URL's

when i try to embed these into a button in 'position'

only one will show on each of the pages

got another way to do this via jrmc (might not be quite as you req - but lets you pump it out to any zone, rather than on the nr client...)

if you call up
then let it load up via internet explorer, when the windows box opens up right click in the play/stop bar at the bottom & go properties...

should give you a 'location' of

copy & paste that into internet explorer.

another box opens up with 'do you want to play or save' - save it (thats the direct link to the radio without using i.e.

stick that in a folder somewehere you can remember (mines on desktop under the name of RadioStations)

i've forgotten whether i used mediabridge via 'File Path browsing tab' or pointed jrmc at the folder....been a while since i used online radio...

Or, you could just put your radio stations into mediabridge via 'Radio Tab' - it'll take a nickname for the station & the url as the destination of the nickname.

All of these methods allow it to be seen in your mediatree list component.

Cheers, Jim

a good list of online radio in the uk...

if you hit the button next to the station (not the station name link) it'll let you save it as above post....

cheers Jim,

i want to try and create page that has button's of different radio station on...

i've got to make this 'WAF' as John Wilson puts it [wife acceptance factor]

so if she sees a button that says 'heart106' thats what she gets....

I have internet radio in JRMC. I created a 'Genre' for Radio and it will list all the internet radio stations I have saved in JRMC and can be played out through any zone. I wrote a how to a long time ago with screenshots

2nd way then,

make a button with a WAF friendly name that sends an event to girder called HeartFM.

make a girder scripting action with the following code on it...

os.execute("path to HeartFMs .m3u file you saved earlier")

JRMC should see you trying to open the file & load it up on your behalf into whatever zone you are on :)

Haven't tried it, but it might work :) if it does you should be able to do volume, stop etc....

sorry - i meant "File Execute" action with the path of "whever you saved it"

I think I have this sorted now

I can press a button in NR
it sends http request
(the BBC have changed the way internet radio opens..the asx opens directly in WMP11

I have set NR to regain focus after IE sends to WMP11 which is about 15 secs

What I would like to know now is... how do I have JRMC control the zones?

is it possible to select zones from JRMC through NR, as the GML for JRMC does not have any in... is this because who every produced the GML did not need them?? or is it not possible?

If you look at the Flat CCF you will see how to select a JRMC zone.

Hi John, Thanks for the response...but would JRMC zones work when streaming from WMP11?

Sorry misunderstood that.... I don't think it can. Do you use JRMC as it can play streaming radio. There is also a script by Marcel that plays LiveFM through JRMC. Maybe that can give you some ideas.

If it can only be played with WMP11 then maybe you could get Girder to change the default sound channels used for it. Not sure if that would work but worth looking into.

Hi John,

Yeah I use JRMC on your recommendation and love it!

I have been trying for ages to get JRMC to do the radio

I have managed to get the radio stations I want into individual playlists so now I can control the zones for them

How do you create a new Genre in JRMC13 say Radio....in the list as Podcasts...Playlists etc

January 25th, 2009, 02:37 PM
scuse the buttin...

in jrmc (assuming you have full reg'd version) can you go to the header bit at the top with file, edit, view tabs etc...

go tools>options>(lefthand pane)File associations

scroll down til you hit other>Windows media

is the box that says "asx, asf,wm" checked? Check it. this should let .asx files open in jrmc & not dimdows media - allowing you to play it into whatever zone you are currently controlling....

Works for me anyways (bit of a delay due to http load up & jrmc sorting itself out! about 15secs as you said earlier)

If this is bum steer, let me know & i'll double check my setup - off the top of my head, thats how i did it...

Hi JIm,

Yeah just sorted that bit...cheers

I have added each feed as a new playlist and grouped as Radio playlist

this enables them to show in NR and I can now control with zones etc

...however how do you create a new 'list thingy'

what I would want to do ...if possible

create a new one called Radio and have NR list it with 'artist' 'album' 'playlist' etc

so... what do you know?

Just checked my setup

I have all my radio stations (.asx, .whatever) put in one folder.
In mediabridge i have Preferences>File Path Browsing> pointing at that folder.

this lets me see it in treeview & pick one to play on whatever zone i have currently selected... (its hiding there under "file path browsing" in treeview)

If you want a WAF easy button, see my earlier post.

If you want it appearing via GAC/Album cover then jwilson might be able to help...
