Hi All,

Was looking at ordering one of these for use with Girder to allow the HTPC to switch on the TV, Sky box, AMP etc but had a query....

The IR sender looks as if it is on the front of the unit. So if the unit was sitting on top of the HTPC next to the devices it needed to control would not the IR signal be beaming back towards me and then not control those devices?

Have I missed something obvious?

Thanks

Stuart

The IR should be powerful enough to bounce off walls and back to the equipment. If it isn't you can always use stick-on IR emitters.

My usbuirt sits in a cabinet and works fine controlling my stuff...its not pointing to any of them...it just bounces of the glass

also there is a socket on the back to connect plug-in emitters... to extend the scope of the IR

hope that helps

Thanks - will order one and give it a try. Dont fancy stick on emitters as everything is out on display and I would worry it owuld block the signal from the "easy to use touch one button hand held and wife proof" normal controller ;)
