Hi All,

what do you use... server or pc?

what would you use if you had the choice?

what would you recommend?

I like the idea of a 'server' cause it sounds better... but what are the benefits

or is it just a good running xp pro on a good system?

My Girder/JRMC setup runs on a Dell Dimension 4700 3.0GHZ w/1.5GB RAM and its been on 24/7 for years running XP. Not had any problems with it. Just a good cleaning now and then.

I call it my server..

I've kinda got both. Old pc rehoused in new server/rack mount case.
Bought it about 4 years ago, broke the case 3 years ago, rehoused soon after. Its a whopping P4 3ghz with a mind blowing 512mb ram & XP MCE, from PC world bargain bin 200...Oh yeah...

Still, it runs girder/nr zoomplayer without breaking a sweat. I don't use it for anything except those! So does that make it a server or a pc i wonder? Been permanantly on for about 2 years so far...
