Looking for any guidance in sending commands to girder over IP.
Want to send comands from an Alcorn Mcbride show controler.

Depending on what the controller can do there are a few options.

The easiest is probably to set up the Girder webserver and customize a .lhtml page to insert events. See the demos for examples on how to do this.

sure in the httpd folder in the Girder installation folder you'll find some examples.

How about UDP or TCP control. Is there a command language I can use? Maybe a telnet session? I am working on a project wehre I would like to control a PC from a PLC based show controler. So talking to the web server is not ideal.

Suggestions?

have a look at the component gipluaeventserver.

this allows you to connect to G and use an interactive lua console remotely.
