Hi all,

I know this has been covered quite a lot, but a lot of the units covered are old and out of production. Just wanting some thoughts on a good UMPC style unit for a commercial Netremote/Girder install. It would need a cradle and I would prefer it to be running Windows. Nothing over the top in terms of the processing capabilities, but a decent size screen (guessing 7" +) without going too high would be the go.

If anyone has some suggestions they would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I use a Samsung Q1 Ultra. It works well, but it's hefty. :)

Now that I've converted my interface to use the Girder webserver instead of NetRemote, I'm thinking the new Samsung Galaxy tablet (Android based) looks like it will be perfect. Depending on how they price it, that may be my next controller of choice. I suppose you could use it to access NetRemote on a desktop through a remote desktop app like VNC if you wanted to stick with NetRemote.

Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Tim. Going to be sticking with NR, and don't really like the idea of VNC for a commercial install. I have found a few iPad like devices hitting the market in the next month with Win7 and they look promising - just hope they are released in time for this install.
