what is the best way to get LUA to display a OSD?

Thanks,

I just use gir.TriggerEvent("ShowOSDEventName",18,1) to trigger the event I created to show the OSD, but if you want pure LUA I'm sure one of the LUA gods will step in.

Shouldn't be a problem - you just have to setup your OSD event using variables? Here's the text of my OSD event:

Source: [source] Volume: [osd_volume] Signal Type: [mode]
Input Signal: [input_signal] / [output_signal] @ [input_signal_rate] / [listening_mode]

I just update the global variables and then triggger the event?
