I am wondering if it is practical to set xbmc up using the transport manager then within the GML simply send the json commands required for navigation? I have looked through the forums and Neomorphs set up was for pre Frodo.

All I am looking for at this stage is to connect to 192.168.x.x:8080 then send something like request={"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.Up","id":1} - seems so simple but as usual I am struggling with the simple things!!

+1 for this request for info.

Looking a reliable way of controlling XBMC with an encoder wheel and keys from ultra-hid i/f. Want to get away from keyboard shortcuts and focus issues.

well I am sorry to say that I have been unable to get the JSON working for me via girder so what I ended up doing was to use xplgirder and link it to eventghost on the same maching as girder I then simply forword the girder events to eventghost which natively supports XBMC and XBMC even sees eventghost as a remote control not my prefered solution but hey it works

Hope this helps,
