View Full Version : Updating to Girder 5 from 3.3

It's a testament to Girder's quality that I've been able to "leave it be" and it's been working in daily use for years.

But I've been thinking of updating to a current version and I'm wondering how painful it'll be. I've got two basic questions:

1) is there any way to import the configuration GML from 3.3 into 5?

2) short of that, will 3.3 and 5 install on the same machine and not "mess with each" other as I port over functionality? I'm mostly concerned about the library of RF codes that I've saved via UIRT over the years. (I understand that 2 versions of Girder won't be able to attach to the same UIRT at the same time...)

That is awesome!

1. You can import the GML however, things might not work as you expected. USB-UIRT actions *should* be OK.
2. If you are going to go with a new installation maybe look at Girder 6. You can install Girder 3 and Girder 5/6 at the same time just don't put them in the same directory.
