I'm playing around with having my Amazon Echo integrate with some of my home automation setup.

It occurred to me that something similar would be helpful in Girder, allowing Girder to respond to voice commands.

Someone has posted the Python code
https://github.com/makermusings/fauxmo

And also documented the protocol:

That is very cool. It should be fairly easy to do with the Girder webserver.

I just setup an echo and I'm using one of the java bridges out there to connect it to girder which so far is working well. I do want to write a .net bridge so I can ditch java and if I'm successful I may give girder plugin creation a go to make it more seamless. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.
