Hi I'm having problems programming the UIRT2, its the guide that messes with my head.

this is the part that i dont understand:

5) Power up PC and run the ICSP program.
It is “uirt-dp.prog13.exe”. Select the serial port that connects the UIRT2 board. Open the hex file by browsing to the location where UIRT_10MHZ_1_7.HEX was downloaded. Leave the other settings as they are and click “Program UIRT”. When the prompt to remove the jumper appears: connect the temporary VPP wire to a +12V supply and place the jumper on the 2 pins closest to the VPP pad.

Remove jumper from Shunt and apply the programming voltage (12 - 14v) to the pin which is further from the board edge and connects to R3.

..

could anyone "please" tell me what to to here and in what order, i thought that i would apply the 12v on both the pins on shount1 but that made my mainboard crash :( and I'm worried that it damaged something on the UIRT2.

please help me out here.

oh, almost forgot, what is VPP pad and where is it?

I finally got it to work, now i just need to mount the crystal.

btw, that guide that supposed to be for the "A" version if UIRT2 is for the "B" version, thats why I had some problems finding the VPP pad and all that.
