View Full Version : Yet Another Sleep Timer (YAST)

September 30th, 2003, 08:21 AM
Ok. I have done this group with the help of the excelent WinLUAEx plugin:
so it includes just 3 commands !!! (Thanx to Mark F)

With only 1 button on the Remote Control you can see and
adjust the Sleep Timer: if you press once, it displays the current
setting; and if you press again the button within 3 sec, you can
adjust the Sleep Timer with step size 15 min, until 150 min
(two and a half hour), after 150 min the next value is Sleep Off.

Software requirements:
- Girder 3.2.9b
- OSD POPup 3.0.6 plugin
- WinLUAEx 1.0.8 plugin

Also read the readme.txt file ...

Just a few days, and here comes the v1.0 version:
- It will countdown from the last 90 sec
- fully, easily customisable
- cleaned code
- minor bugfixes

OK, here it is ...

ability to display the last q seconds in the form of countdown
customizable parameters
customizable captions (multilanguage support :) )

Also read the included readme.txt ...

But I can't use it because the Girder Shutdown process
crashes my system.
I use an external programm to shutdown my computer.
It would be a great improvement, when you could add multiple "go to"-command, which are startet, when the timer ends.
Timer ends: Go to -> Group: Shutdown System
-> Group: WinDVD close
The Programm would be more complex and you could use it for starting applications, mute volume, etc.

OK. I will look into it, but it will be no tomorrow ... :)

Hello Chros,

thank you a lot!!! YAST is working great for me.

I made small customizations:

- I use XP OSD instead of OSD Popup.
- Pushing the remote button for YAST longer time (e.g over 2 sec.) always disables the timer (using buttonmode plugin)

Chros, would you please send the script to the Girder supprt address in the about box. Ron, could place it in the downloads section.

This rocks! Thanks chros.

Just bought a projector and was looking for something just like this, so its doesn't stay on all night. You just saved me heaps of money on buying new bulbs.

BaudBandit, would you mind sharing your customized script? I would like to see the differences and the 2 sec off function is a nice touch.

My girlfreind had crushed my IR receiver almost a year ago, and I almost forget about Grider ... Last month I had bought an USB receiver on the net ... :)

@father of monstermagnet , @Treetop, @Haddood : I'm glad to hear that ! :)

@BaudBandit : I'll try this XP OSD ... The other suggestion doesn't work with every remote :( But it's a great idea !!! (Pushing the remote button ...)

@Mike C: Have you put up it into the download section already ?
