Hi,

I'm about to build a UIRT2 after Luc's Tutorial. The partlist sais "Zener 5V6" for ZD1.
I figured Zener-Diodes are also called Z-Diodes and have 2 parameters: Zener-Voltage and Wattage at Zener-Voltage.
My electronics supplier lets me choose between SMD ZF n, SMD ZD n, ZF n, ZD n, ZY n Z-Diodes, where n is a number between 0,8 and 200.
The SMD ZF n ones are rated at 0,5 W, SMD ZD n: 0,35 W, ZF n: 0,5 W, ZD n: 1,3 W, ZY n: 1,3 W.

I have no clue which one might be the correct one :oops:

If you have experiance hand soldering SMD components, then go for a 0.5W zener.

Don't confuse the guy.

@kroneckerdelta
The ZF type without "SMD" is the appropriate one.
