I can't teach my usb-uirt to select the DVD input on my sony str-da555es receiver. I can easily teach it other commands without difficulty. So I tried to inport the ir codes directly from an IR library (http://ir.premisesystems.com/), but I could not find the right code.

Any suggestions to either (a) how I can teach that particular code to my usb-uirt, (b) where else I can find the ir code, (c) how to convert pronto code to ir code, or (d) anything else.

thanks,
Mac

MacS,

Try placing the following code in the 'Code1' box in the Girder plugin. Make sure the Code2 box is blank and the carrier set to 40KHz.

What code do I put in the "Code1" box?

Jon,

Thanks very much. I would like to know where you got that code, in case I need other codes in the future.

I have a Sony receiver -- honestly though I cannot recall if I learned it from the remote or whether I had to create it.

Doesn't the remote have a DVD input button?

Yes, it does. But for some reason I could not teach that IR code to usb-uirt. I had no trouble teaching it other codes, such as video1 input, tuner input, volume controls, etc. Some quirk about the DVD/LD input, I guess.

Hmmm... I'll have to try my remote with the current SW, in case something has changed. I learned this code over a year ago...

I noticed the same thing with my Sony STR-DA777ES receiver remote, when I try and teach any of it's "switch input" commands to USB-UIRT, it learns the first portion, then sit's waiting for more, but that never arrives. I got around this by rapidly pressing the Sony remotes button during the learn function, and after a few seconds it's in Girder and works fine.
