View Full Version : Pocket PC, Simpad or a PC

I just installed V 0.653 (true to Ben's naming conventions) of my ccf for the Pocket PC Dell Axim x3i. Having never liked these PPCs for NetRemote before, I stand to correct myself: NR is great on a PPC. The sharpness is just amazing. Even text in a very small font is perfectly readable. So when to use what:

Pocket PC:
+ very fast and responsive
+ small
+ depending on the model and its weight, it'll probably survive a small crash (no, I have not made any tests - my PPC is brand new! )
- Small screen

Simpad (or comparable CE powered device):
+ great screen size allowing great NR panels
- very slow
- CE 4 with NetRemote crashes frequently and therefor has a negative WAF
- You drop it, you regret it!

Stand alone PC:
+ Perfectly stable
+ Screen size makes navigation easy
+ Fast
- Big and heavy

I will probably transform my Simpads into a picture frame one day and just keep the PPC. Can't wait to try some of the tricks that mlwing and others have been working on! :P

I suppose Netremote at some point should be compiled for CE to get rid of the need to use any "fake dlls". I think that should solve most of theese problems.
Using a PPC Version can only be a workarround.
