Default http command with out explorer!

    Hi,

I need to execute a command to get sagetv to play a file, unfortunately the only way to do it is with

from either the commandline or via ie, unfortunately both mean explorer is used. Is there a way I can do this with out opening explorer or causing it to open?
    Thx, Dan

I probably sound like a broken record, but could you use AJAX to do this?

Something like, create the XMLHttpRequest object with luacom(??), have it connect to the URL, maybe even read a little status while it's there, and then destroy the object?
