Thread: "object reference not set to an instance of an object"

    Default "object reference not set to an instance of an object"

    So I finally take the dive to NRD and NR 2.0. Make a few changes to my CCF, save, load the new CCF and..NR blew up, closed and will not open. Get a standard MS message "Netremote encountered a problem...." No big deal right , just open NRD and back out the changes. Problem: NRD won't open because NR won't open.

    So, how do I remove the defective CCF from NR and replace with a functional one without being able to open it. ?????

    Just rename the CCF - NR will start and prompt you to specify a CCF

    Thanks, problem solved. Any idea why one of my 3 zone pages would cause this problem. I have 3 panels that look the same but each controlls the fuctions for its zone through my AVm. Whenever change to zone 1 NR shuts down. Can't figure out what I am missing. Looks like each of the panels are the same, just different functions for the buttons....

    Does it bomb if the zones are not active (IE: server not up)? If so, please send me the CCF and I'll attemt to reproduce / resolve.

    Thanks for the help...
    What is happening is:
    from the home frame, select tuner. The jump is thuner bedroom. If I try to select zone 1 (living room). RN shuts down. Not sure what I am missing.

    I've corrected the problem such that it "catches" this error properly and doesn't bomb.

    Here's how to solve it, for now:

    1. Open the default CCF in NetRemote
    2. Open NRD
    3. In NRD, open your CCF
    4. Open the Living Room panel under tuner.
    5. Change the -middle button- from {Z2pwr) to {Z2pwr}

    Though I think I'll be uploading a new version this evening.
