    Default How to get map->eventstring to variable ?

    I am trying to write simple macro, to speak out
    map key name, while key on remote is pressed.

    Log Display shows complete information i.e.:

    Time Date Source Details Payloads
    10:11:01:172 10/2/2007 USB-UIRT - Samsung TV CS21-A8W APPLICATION VOLUME DOWN
    10:11:01:172 10/2/2007 USB-UIRT driver 4348414140F0

    but from the scrpit I can get only:

    EventDevice - 75 (USB-UIRT)
    EventString - 4348414140F0

    while in fact I would like to get:

    "USB-UIRT - Samsung TV CS21-A8W"
    "APPLICATION VOLUME DOWN"

    How can I go about it ?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    If the first of those is an event then use that event instead to trigger the action.

    I have probably failed to explain my problem.

    ed = EventDevice
    es = EventString
    print( ed, es )

    gives:

    75 8056154020A2

    but I need to output (map):

    USB-UIRT - Samsung TV CS21-A8W APPLICATION VOLUME DOWN

    What shuld I query to get it ?
    Can you please give an example ?

    I'm not sure whether what you want to do is directly possible. What I was trying to say is that your log shows the mapped version, if that entry in the log isn't just an informational message then try dragging it from the logger to the action in the GML. That might give you access to the mapped version of the event.
