Rob - it's the .ccf that came with the install when it loads up (something like pro 640x480).

Okay, what Girder plugin instances do you have in File|Properties|Plugins?

Do you have any firewalls or antivirus software running?

What chipset is/are the motherboard(s) and preferably also the chipset(s) of the network hardware?

It might also be worth running either NetRemote designer or DebugView from www.sysinternals.com on the PC running NR so we can see if there are any error messages logged.

I got it to work. did as you said and made sure only one NR client was trying to access only one instance of Girder. I had installed NR/Girder on 4 machines on my network, so apparantly, the other instances in the plug in screen in NR was causing problems enabling it to connect to Girder. I love it! i'm sure i will have other questions but for today i'm good
