please do not install the dm stuff before verifying the correct operation of the 1-wire plugin (as described in earlier posts).

also make sure that no other software is running that reads from the 1-wire bus...

if it doesn't work, please verify if any of above mentioned error messages appear in the logger...

There won't be any upgraded version of the 1-wire plugin...

    Hi,
    Understood re new version.
Right, Hdd imaged back to pre girder install.
Reinstalled at version 5.0.8 build 542

Installed Onewire drivers from Maxim, setup USB converter on Com3. Not tested with the online test tool to ensure that nothing else is using the com port.
Installed Onewire.dll from the zip file off the forum (although the zip is named onewiregirder4 potentially meaning it could be an old version?)
    Enabled onewire in the settings
Restarted the PC for good measure.

    typed in:

    Code:
    table.print(OneWire.DeviceList())
In the Lua console I get:
    Code:
...gram Files\Promixis\Girder5\\luascript\Additions.lua:100: table index is nil
    stack traceback:
        ...gram Files\Promixis\Girder5\\luascript\Additions.lua:100: in function <...gram Files\Promixis\Girder5\\luascript\Additions.lua:98>
        ...gram Files\Promixis\Girder5\\luascript\Additions.lua:137: in function `tostring'
        ...gram Files\Promixis\Girder5\\luascript\Additions.lua:173: in function `print'
        [string "Interactive"]:1: in main chunk
    In the logger I get:

    Time Date Source Details Payloads
    14:51:15:343 12/22/2008 One-Wire Plugin could not load IBFS32.DLL

Which does match up with one of your error messages.
I have searched for IBFS32.DLL in the forum but there is no other mention of it. Am I missing a file or is something corrupted? Is this associated with the drivers from Maxim or with Girder?

After the test I used hyperterminal to try and establish a connection to Com3, it said that another device was using it (i.e. girder). I then closed girder and it connected ok to com3 (prooving that only girder is looking at com3)

    With thanks

    Jon

ok, so you may be missing the dallas semiconductor / maxim provided tmex api drivers...

on my xp system, it is installed in the windows directory

    ibfs32.dll 10-12-2007 21:25 size 134KB

If you really don't have this dll anywhere on your pc, then the 1-wire plugin isn't going to work...

I tried to install 'install_1_wire_drivers_x86_v402beta.msi' on a new vista pc and ibfs32.dll is not installed

I then tried an older version :

    install_1_wire_drivers_v400.msi

    and that installs it ok...

    http://files.dalsemi.com/auto_id/lic...ivers_v400.msi

uninstal 402b and install 400 and try again...

    Hi,
I was just about to post the same successful response!
I've installed "install_1_wire_drivers_v400.exe" and it now works fine!
Thank you very much for all your time, patience and help.

Now I just need to work out how to integrate it into Girder proper and get it to turn some onewire digital IO relays (using DS2408's) on/off commands based on time, temperature and occupancy to control my central heating. This will keep me busy!

Out of interest I also got the DM to do something of sorts (i.e. it appears in my conditionals tree) and I think I managed to get it to do something as the temperature rose in the room I have the temp sensor in.

    Thanks Again.

Ok, now I am in need of help. Installed the 4.00 version of the drivers from link in previous post. Receive the following errors in G logger.
    Code:
    Time	Date	Source	Details	Payloads
18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	no devices found on 1-wire network
    18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	No DS2409 hubs found
    18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	1-Wire network setup failed
    18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	COMU DS9097U V3.22 06/17/05 (IB97U32.DLL)
    18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	Main Driver: FF IBFS32 V3.22 06/17/05 (IBFS32.DLL)
    18:39:57:422	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	Port number: 1 Port type: 5
    18:39:53:844	2/20/2009	One-Wire Plugin	found IBFS32.DLL
OneWireViewer sees the temp sensor without issue.

Using HobbyBoards 6 port master hub, serial.

    DOH!!!!

Was doing some testing with something else earlier in G. It had COM1 open. Disabled it and what do you know, hubs and temps found.

    Sorry.
