Thread: Windows 7 keyboard problem

I just switched from XP to win 7 and am having a similar problem where Girder just stops reading keyboard inputs. I'm fairly inexperienced with Girder and have never made a timer function like you described or anything not triggered by a key press even. Is this done in a script? Would you mind posting your code or how you created this.

    Many thanks,

    Josh

I'm having this issue too, created a quick fix and actually forgot about it. But I do think it should be fixed properly.

The info in this thread should provide some guidance in bughunting; My experience is the same as Mastiff, that its related to the count. Which is in line with the 60 second recycle of the plugin, as that appears to be enough to reset it before the count hits its ceiling.

    This code should do for setting up a recurring timer;
    Code:
    local Recycle = function ()
       gir.DisablePlugin(202)
       win.Sleep(500)
       gir.EnablePlugin(202)
       --print ("Keyboard plugin reset!")
    end

    -- use global for timer
KeyboardFix = gir.CreateTimer( nil, Recycle, nil, true)
    KeyboardFix:Arm (60000)
Put it in a script action and make sure it runs on girder opening and script reset events.

I've been using this workaround/fix but I wonder if this was actually resolved in recent releases? If so I will upgrade/delete the fix. Thx

Not aware of a fix (might have escaped my attention)

You could try post it in the bug thread, I don't think it was ever added there.

No fix was done to this. (the fix indeed would like just like your workaround) so keep it for now.
