    The main problem is that the AV\Zone\Surround device doesn't have a DisplayInformation control.

    I'll try to find (or create) an example that shows how to add one to an existing device type. There are a couple of ways that this can be done though, one is to create a subclass of the AV\Zone\Surround device, and the other is to add a Controls table to the device descriptor in txds989.lua

    Rob I will soon be looking at playing with this myself now that I have an Onkyo TX-SR707 receiver with the RS-232 port. I am going to go through the protocol and see what I want to use.... will be keeping an eye on this thread.

    like to contribute the source code. How should I submit it?
