Default PowerDVD 9 - Learn Girder HID "keystrokes"

    Hello,

I have bought the latest PowerDVD 9. This Program was distributed with an IR remote controller. When plugging the USB-IR Receiver into my Vista computer, a standard HID driver was installed.
This HID generates some “Keystrokes” which could be printed (e.g. text editor) and some which are not printable.
    Now my question:
Can Girder learn these HID “Keystrokes” (in particular the not printable), in order to control PowerDVD by Girder?

    Regards

Well that is a trick question, most likely not. What you would have to do is try and open that HID device and read from it. If you get data from it during the invisible keystrokes then you are in business.

Ron, thank you for your quick response!
What do you mean with "open that HID device"? How to do this?

Default Vista MCE remote and PowerDVD9

    Hi

I already use a Asus Vista MCE remote to control Mediaportal which runs well. My colleague Simon got it to work with a MP-Plugin which deals with window messages.

Now i want to do the same for PowerDVD 9 Ultra, but i don't know these window message values. The way of finding the application and then taking it's focus and use key shortcuts is not that elegant.

Does anybody know how i can find out these values?

    Thanks,
    Christian
