    Default Mysql on Raspberry Pi

    Hi,

On Girder windows, I access MySQL with odbc.dll.

How to make queries on MySQL with Girder on Raspberry Pi ?

    Thanks

Looks like I'll have to compile the mysql driver. I vaguely remember there being a licensing issue on Windows with that driver. I'll have to investigate. I'm on the road this week so it will be next week. If I forget please remind me.

    Old post ...

Now that it will be possible for me to use Girder on Linux, how can I update a MySQL or MariaDb Database from lua ?

Oh cool. Maria DB's client license is LGPL. https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/mariadb-license/ (we've been unable to provide clients to MySQL since they are GPL licensed ). So I'll look at including the MariaDB clients...

    Hi Ron
I have tried to do this in a script on raspberry: ODBC = require('luasql.odbc')
    and got this:
Scripting / [string "Scripting"]:2: module 'luasql.odbc' not found:
    no field package.preload['luasql.odbc']
    no file './luasql/odbc.lua'
    no file '/opt/girder/lua/luasql/odbc.lua'
    no file '/opt/girder/lua/luasql/odbc/init.lua'
    no file '/opt/girder/libluasql/odbc.so'
    no file '/opt/girder/luasql/odbc.so'
    no file './libluasql/odbc.so'
    no file './luasql/odbc.so'
    no file '/opt/girder/libluasql.so'
    no file '/opt/girder/luasql.so'
    no file './libluasql.so'
    no file './luasql.so'
    no file './luasql/odbc.elua'
    no file '/opt/girder/lua/luasql/odbc.elua'
    no file '/opt/girder/lua/luasql/odbc/init.elua'

Is there a way to access external mysql-db from my raspberry with Girder Version 6.0.12.1?

    Thanks
    Hans-Peter

We currently don't have an odbc driver on Linux. I don't have a Linux client up right now but does this work?
    Code:
    require "luasql.mysql"
taken from the last example on this page: https://keplerproject.github.io/luas.../examples.html

I have seen in the directory luasql that sqlite3 is the only one available. For what I want to do, I changed the scripts to sqlite3 and it works fine.
If there would be mysql and ODBC available some day on raspberry, I would be interested.
    Thanks, Hans-Peter

I'll see what I can do about mysql or odbc on Linux.
