Default Girder 6 and Insteon Hub

    All -

I'm in the very early stages of moving to Girder 6. I've also purchased an insteon hub. I've set the hub up, installed the insteon app on my phone and it works just fine.

In girder 6, I can add the hub as a device, and in the component editor, I can see references to the two insteon devices I have added.

I'm sure this is related to my inexperience with Girder 6, but how do I monitor/control the devices? For example, one of the two devices is a door sensor. To get started, I'd like to so something simple like print something in the log whenever it's status changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

Check that the Insteon Hub is linked as a responder to the door sensor. You can see this on the PLM tab, look for the ID of the door sensor with a "R" behind it. Then trip the door sensor and keep an eye on the log. You should see an event.

Thanks Ron! I'm still having trouble - does is matter that this is the hidden door sensor vs. the regular one? My lightbulbs are pairing and working with no problems, but for some reason, I'm getting nowhere with the hidden door sensor...

Let's work on this tomorrow. I'm sure we'll figure it out.

What is the device cat and subcat for the door sensor. It's probably Cat 10, what is the subcat? You can find this in the device manager, click on the Insteon Component, then go to the Devices tab and select the door sensor from the list. It should display something like CAT: 10:## with ## being a hex number. What is the device address?

While you are at it can you run Debug view and trigger the door sensor and send me the log?

    Ron -

Here's the info from the Devices tab:

    CAT 10:11
    Engine 3
    Firmware 67
    Unknown 17

And here's the info from Debug View when I trigger the device:

Ron - just an FYI. I added another device today (a water sensor) and it worked just fine. I'm guessing this points towards something about the hidden door sensor device itself being the issue? Does the code not recognize it as a 'registered' type?

    Thanks!

I'm sure the door sensor is fine. The water sensor I have here and thus it is already supported. I'll try to get to this tomorrow. Sorry it's been crazy.
