Thread: Qt Creator as NetRemote designer

  1. #1

Post Qt Creator as NetRemote designer

    Hi Ron,

After some holdups I would like get my homeautomation project going again and I have some questions I hope you could help me anwser!

Can a NetRemote qml file be tested in Qt Creator (I would like to use QT Creator as designer)?

When I try to run a NetRemote qml file in Qt Creator I get "module "Promixis" is not installed", or can I only edit the qml file to create buttons, slider etc. and when I want to test I need open the file in Grinder 6?

Am I assuming right when I think you have created a C++ application to load the QML runtime (NetRemote)?
If so could you make this available for download? What I want is to be able to create a remote for my Ubuntu phone.

If it contains a lot of code you don't want/need to share maybe you can create a small start program (that we could edit) that calls your NetRemote app (that in turen runs the qml).

    Regards,

    Joachim

I'm going to try and figure out a way to do that yes. Things are crazy here but I will do my best.

Alright we have something! It's tiny but should take care of the import errors.

Download Qt 5.4 ( get the msvc2013 builds) which should include the Qt Creator. Find the Qt Creator directory on your machine. Unzip the attached zip file into the imports directory. That should make the Promixis namespace available.

edit: see post #15 for download.

Looks like Qt has a new version 5.4.1, the module is compiled against 5.4.0. I wonder if that is causing the trouble.

To check, I removed the 4.1 and installed the 4.0.

I get the same message :

My version of Qt creator is this one :

I used the x86 version of the promixis plugin (tested with x64 too ...).
    I unzip the file Promixis-x86.zip here : c:\Qt\Qt5.4.0\Tools\QtCreator\bin\imports

    It looks like :

Is there something else to do ? I never used Qt Creator before ...

Aah there it is. It's built against MSVC2010 - I use 2013, maybe missing runtime.
