USB-UIRT has very basic help, and Girder has quite a steep learning curve with it. Took me a while to work out how get it working. Here's some help....

1.1 Downloaded the USB-UIRT Driver (Google USB-UIRT).
1.2 Connect USB-UIRT
1.3 Via the Windows Device Manager, find the USB-UIRT then "Update Driver" using the downloaded driver (make sure it's unzipped first).

2.1 Download Girder with the free trial and grab the authentication code....
2.2 Install then find and start "Girder Local" to start with.
2.3 Set Girder up for it to detect USB-UIRT and the Keyboard.

[click-on] Settings icon [3rd from left]
[click-on] Plugins
[tick] USB-UIRT Plugin [OK]
[tick] Keyboard input [OK]
[refresh]

[click-on] Device manager [4th from left]
[click-on] Add component [1st on left]
[select] USB-UIRT Plugin [Ok]

COPYING INFRA-RED SIGNALS:
-========================-
Quite a faff. You (seem to) need to use the "PIR-1 Send" action, to learn codes, then copy these into the clipboard and paste into the CCF code part within the "USBUIRT > Send" action.

1. ACTION TREE is where you build your set-ups.
2. FILE > NEW > [expand "New File" to show "New Group" folder] >

Rename the file as "TESTING INFRA-RED SIGNALS"
Rename the folder as
"Use IR Workshop to learn CCF signals - to copy and paste to USB-UIRT actions"

3. [In available actions drag] PIR > "PIR-1 Send" into the folder.

Double-click on PIR-1 Send > "Use IR Workshop to learn CCF signals -

to copy and paste to USB-UIRT actions"

4. In the Action [/TESTING INFRA-RED SIGNALS/........] window (Edit) -

click on the "IR WORKSHOP" button.

Ensure IR Out: is set to All (or adjust as needed). Then click on the

little transmitter icon (near top left). Select USB-UIRT Plugin > OK.

** Point your infra-red device at the USB-UIRT, and hold the button you

want to clone. Aim for 100% Progress and Quality > OK

** TEST with the large Play button and if good, highlight then copy the

CCF box of codes > OK.

5. In a new Action Tree file > NEW > and drag across a "USBUIRT > Send"

action. Click on this, and within the Action and Edit window (down the bottom), paste the code, e.g.

0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 0016
0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 003F 0016 0016 0016 003F

6. Next drag an input across from the Logger and then test. Fingers crossed!

Probably could have explained that better myself, but hope it's a useful starting point for someone.
