    Default good news

i posted this one only in the prerelase area - but should be here:
using Marcel's labels on vga res pda, you get correct font scaling!
Some work to replace all of them, but at least i wan't have to maintain two ccf's anymore!
    thanks Marcel!

Should this be an option (to switch dpi settings)?

By all means if you need this functionality now, use Marcel's excellent plugin.

I'll be picking up the Dell 480x640 unit soon, and I'll integrated Marcel's code into the main renderer in NetRemote.

the main thing that is not working on PPC AND WIN32 is cleartype text...

(we had this discussion via email before)

on win32 I use gdi+ antialiasing, but that doesn't look as nice as cleartype especially for smaller font sizes

Eh? Cleartype seems to work okay with win32 - or do you mean your code?

I did some more tests and you're right, cleartype does work on XP (both NR labels and mine if I enable it)

cleartype only looks good on small font sizes... the bigger font sizes look better with anti-aliasing (as used in my plugin)

I'll add a TextRenderingHint option to my label control (win32 only)....

(I read that GDI+ cleartype text only works on XP, so not on W2K,w98 even though there is cleartype support in the OS)

so it's only on PPC that cleartype doesn't work (Ben explained some technical reasons for that via private mail)

    Default For Ben

By the way - it would be nice to have an option specifying the CCF orientation when opened....
I always use my pda in portait mode, and NR in landscape - so before i start NR, i have to change the screen orientation, then run NR... WAF decreases because big overhead!
